4-day Garden Route Tour : Private Tours Available

The Garden Route stretches the south-eastern coast of South Africa from Cape Town’s Mossel Bay to the Storms River in the Eastern Cape. The Garden route is famous for it climate, stunning scenery and diverse vegetation.
The region includes no less than ten nature reserves including marine reserves with soft coral reefs, dolphins, seals and a host of other marine life. There are numerous bays along the Garden Route that are nursing grounds for the endangered Southern Right Whale which come there to birth during the winter and spring (July to December).
Garden Route Tour Itinerary (4-days) Tuesday:
  • Depart Cape Town at about 08h15
  • Du Toit’s Kloof Mountain pass Worcester
  • Route 62 is the longest wine route in the world) through Montagu
  • We stop for a wine tasting and delicious lunch
  • Travel through the Little Karoo to Oudtshoorn, ostrich capital of the world!
  • A warm welcome awaits at the 3* Riempies Estate Hotel (or similar)
Wednesday:
  • Visit the world famous Cango Caves
  • Cango Wildlife Ranch (Crocodile and Cheetah farm)
  • See cheetah, tiger, lion, puma, and jaguar.
  • Lunch including ostrich is at the Highgate Ostrich farm where staff serenades us during lunch.
  • Tour the farm and you will have the opportunity to sit on and ride an ostrich.
  • We drive over the Outeniqua Mountains to Knysna
  • See the spectacular Knysna Heads
  • Overnight at the 4* Knysna Quays Hotel in Knysna (or similar).
Thursday:
  • Enjoy the quaint village of Knysna with free time in the Knysna Waterfront.
  • Guided 2.5 hour boat trip on the Keurbooms
  • Picnic lunch on the beaches of the Keurbooms River.
  • Drive to Mossel Bay to the Post Office Tree and Diaz museum
  • Spend the afternoon at the swimming pool or stroll along the beach
  • Dinner and overnight at the 3* Mossel Bay Protea hotel (or similar).
Friday:
  • Botlierskop Private Game reserve for breakfast and a 3-hour open vehicle game drive
  • You may see Rhinoceros, Lion, Buffalo, and Giraffe, rare Black Impala and many other species the 3000 hectare reserve
  • We travel to for our lunch at La Belle Alliance
  • Stop at one of the local Farm stalls before continuing on our scenic route back to Cape Town.

Please note that we cannot guarantee any specific animal sightings or interaction with animals as these animals are all in their natural habitat and wild. This also applies to any tour where we advertise interaction with animals in conservation projects. We reserve the right to terminate tour services if children are not behaving properly or causing disturbance. Entrance fees charged by third party service providers may be charged for children under 12 years. In order to qualify for children’s rates (when children’s rates are available), the child must be accompanied on the tour by 2 adults. Children under 8 years are only permitted on game drives on a private tour, and on certain tours at the discretion of third party service providers.
